Bicycle & Pedestrian Network Master Plan

In the spring of 2016, the Metropolitan Area Planning Council agreed to assist the Town of Middleton in the creation of a community-wide Bicycle and Pedestrian Network Master Plan, with the goal of encouraging implementation of bicycle and pedestrian accommodations and to create a network of on-road and off-road facilities for safe, nonautomotive travel.

Henry Tragert Town Common

$100,000 was approved at the May 13, 2015 Town Meeting to make further improvements to the Henry Tragert Town Common, including expanding the parking and constructing a war memorial with flag pole, installing a walking pathway from the rear entrance on mount Vernon Street to King Street, and installing benches, picnic tables, a drinking fountain, a winter sliding hill, and associated landscaping.

Community visioning for a Town master plan like the one the Town of Middleton has undertaken is a process whereby a community evaluates its historic and present-day assets, and imagines how and where it should grow in order to leave a legacy for the next generation.

Zoning Amendment Proposals

The Citizen Petition Zoning Amendments that proposed to increase the required 35 foot side and rear yards to 100 foot for business and commercial lots abutting residential lots failed at the Special Town Meeting held on February 28, 2017.
